BOBBY KIRKWOOD, is the Program Coordinator of USC Annenberg's Institute for Justice and Journalism. Prior to assuming the post in 2001, she operated Kirkwood Business Services for 13 years, providing special events, administrative and word-processing services. For the 1984 Summer Olympics, Kirkwood worked in the USC Villages department of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee from 1983 through 1984. She was one of the original staff of the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles, created with surplus funds from the 1984 Olympic Games, where she served as administrative assistant to the vice president for grants and programs before leaving to start her business in 1988. Previously, she worked in a variety of organizations as secretary, administrative assistant and office manager. Kirkwood attended Rust College in Mississippi for two years, majoring in secretarial science, and graduated from Memphis Area Vocational Technical School. Since moving to Los Angeles in 1977, she has taken supervisory and other professional development courses through UCLA Extension, Los Angeles City College, American Management Association’s Keye Productivity Center, American Management Tech University and the University of Southern California.
