Guns and Gun Control: Resources

Nearly everyone involved in firearms research has a point of view, including advocacy groups, experts and academics.
As Florida State University professor and firearms researcher Gary Kleck put it, “Most of the people who are strongly motivated enough to devote the thousands of hours needed to do research and carefully assess the research of others did so because they began with very strong personal feelings on the subject.”
Kleck suggested that reporters seek out sources who are “knowledgeable and reasonably objective,” but he cautioned that is not easily accomplished.
Here is a reporter’s source list with representatives from many facets of the gun debate. Points of view are noted in some cases.
