“Crime and Punishment in America”
An IJJ Fellowship Conference
The Institute for Justice and Journalism convenes its 2006-7 Criminal Justice Fellowships on November 27 and will extend over five days with a focus on the politics and consequences of incarceration, removal and reentry policies.
Eight Justice and Journalism fellows, all working reporters, will confer with an array of distinguished experts including Prof. Elijah Anderson of the University of Pennsylvania, Bob Herbert of the New York Times and Ellis Cose of Newsweek to discuss their respective reporting projects.
The fellowship’s opening conference, led by IJJ Senior Fellow Joe Domanick, launches the new Center on the Media, Crime and Justice at City University of New York’s John Jay College.
