Michael Martinez is a Chicago Tribune national correspondent based in Los Angeles. A Chicago native, he has been working at the Tribune for the past 13 years. Recent assignments have included covering the Iraq war as a unilateral reporter and the Afghanistan war as an embedded reporter. Martinez has worked as a reporter at the Kansas City Times and Kansas City Star and an intern reporter at the Washington Post, Boston Globe and the Muskegon (Mich.) Chronicle.
