Linda Valdez is an award-winning journalist who has written about immigration and border issues for The Arizona Republic since 1993. She was one of three finalists for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing for her series of editorials about the deaths along the Arizona-Mexico border. Valdez has won numerous other national, regional and state awards for her writing. Her columns appear twice a month in the Sunday Viewpoints section of the Republic. She also writes editorials that appear several times per week.
