Maria Teresa (Tessie) Borden
Mexico City Correspondent
Arizona Republic

Maria Borden is the Mexico City correspondent for the Arizona Republic. As an Arizona Republic general assignment reporter, she concentrated on immigration issues. Before coming to the Arizona Republic she was a general assignment reporter at the Associated Press; a crime reporter at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale; federal courts reporter at the Houston Post; federal courts reporter at the Arizona Daily Star; education editor at the Waco Tribune-Herald; and a county reporter at the Beaumont Enterprise. She has received numerous awards for her reporting. Borden is trilingual in Spanish, French and English.
