Rene P. Ciria-Cruz is an editor and writer at Pacific News Service and New California Media. He is also a longtime editor of Filipinas Magazine, the only nationally circulated Filipino American magazine, and for ten years was editor-in-chief of Katipunan, a national Filipino political monthly that published out of Berkeley, CA for 19 years. Ciria-Cruz also edited for the Practising Law Institute and Guinness Book of World Records (Sterling Publishing Inc.) in New York, and financial publisher Scheinman-Ciaramella Ltd. in Rome. His articles have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner (Hearst), Japan Today, Google News, Alternet, Berkeley Daily Planet and the Manila Chronicle. He has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of the Philippines, Institute of Mass Communication.
