Ann Bennett

National Black Programming Consortium

ANN BENNETT is an independent filmmaker with a specialty in historical documentaries. After studying American History and 16mm Production at Harvard University, Bennett began her film career at Blackside Productions in Boston. Since then, she has worked on a host of documentaries on African American history and culture for public television, cable networks, and several non-profit organizations. Bennett has devoted her professional career to exploring the nexus of history, culture, and spirituality within the African Diaspora. She has won awards and fellowships from: The National Black Programming Consortium - New Media & Technology Institute, The American Film Institute Digital Content Lab, The CPB Producers Academy, The Black Documentary Collective, The Independent Feature Project Documentary Lab, and The Columbia University Bollinger Presidential Scholarship.
